The Republic of Texas National Championship

Texas. National. Championship.

April 15 & 16, 2023. Cycle Progression is partnering with Team Trail Party to create a unique weekend of MTB racing that will bring endurance athletes, gravity athletes and anyone else who wants to take part in the spectacle together.

Cycle Progression is taking charge of the weekend's XC events while Team Trail Party is steering the gravity events, but we are all working together to create the biggest weekend of MTB's that Texas has ever seen. We're calling it the Sea Bevo - like Sea Otter, but a more relevant mascot .

VENDORS!

We would LOVE to have you at our event. Please click the link below and send us a message if you plan to attend so that we can plan out space accordingly. No vendor fees apart from venue waivers!

Which event should I sign up for?

Here are some brief descriptions of each event. Specific event details subject to change (like course design, race length, etc.).

Sign up for one, or for all (but doing all would be a LOT)! It IS possible to do every event offered this weekend, but you'll be moving nonstop.

Dual Slalom

Dual slalom consists of two racers racing two almost identical tracks next to each other down a slope. The courses are usually short and filled with tabletop jumps, doubles and bermed turns. TTP has been constructing a course at RPR and the inaugural race will be this event!

Enduro

Enduro races are made up of multiple downhill stages, which are timed, and then the cumulative time of all stages will generate the event's result. Uphills and transfers between timed stages are NOT timed, so you are welcome to spend as long as you want out on the trails as long as you turn your chip in by the required time.

XCC

Cross Country Short Track. The 'crit' of MTB racing. Mass start with laps typically under 1.0-2.0 km (0.6-1.2 miles) in length in less technical terrain, and a total race duration of 20-25 minutes. Spectator friendly and a great 'opener' for the longer XCO race the following day.

XCO

Cross Country Olympic. A mass start MTB race format held over undulating, mainly off-road circuits which riders must complete several times. Our course at Spider Mountain will have plenty of climbing, but also plenty of descending!
